About Lisa Farsje, LiCSW
Why I Love This Work:
I have a passion for the therapy process. It is such an honor to witness the transformation that happens when people learn to trust themselves and to embrace a new way of being in the world.
Together, with curiosity and compassion, we review what’s happened in your life. We look for patterns and explore options for doing things differently. When clients begin to understand more about why they think, feel and act the way they do, they can reduce a lot of anxiety. Learning about ourselves, with the help of a skilled, compassionate therapist, can help free us to grow into more loving, authentic people. If you’re struggling after a breakup or divorce, losing someone close to you, or other major life changes, I’d be honored to help you find your inner freedom and develop more positive, fulfilling relationships. You can create a life you love—even if you might feel like your world has imploded right now. Things can get so much better. If you’d like to meet me for a free 20-minute phone consultation, please reach out.
Work History:
I’ve been in the mental health field for over 25 years and have extensive experience helping people reduce symptoms related to anxiety, perfectionism, depression, grief & loss, and trauma. For 18 years, I had the honor of serving military Veterans with individual therapy, group therapy, and case management interventions. I provided individualized interventions to promote coping skills for mental health symptoms, substance use disorders, and chronic medical conditions.
In therapy, I help clients reconnect with their values so they can decide why and how they want to change. Sometimes the starting point is to see issues from a new perspective instead of jumping into a lot of changes that actually don’t fit for you. There are many paths to healing and I’d love to help you strengthen your internal sense of what’s best for you.
