Therapy for Substance Use
Some of my clients have found that their drinking or drug use has increased, especially during the pandemic. Working from home made it easy to start using substances earlier in the day and what was once something they looked forward to became something they started to rely on a little too much. They started noticing they were putting things off more, and avoiding things they used to enjoy. When clients come to see me for substance use counseling, they’re often not sure what needs to change exactly, they just feel stuck in patterns that no longer work for them. They may notice an increase in symptoms such as more anxiety, sleep problems or a general sense of “blah”. They feel like there are so many things they want to be doing but that the drinking or drugs are starting to hold them back.
Are you starting to worry about drinking too much? Or, are you starting to wonder about the effects of marijuana use in your life? If you’re needing support in this exploration, I’m here. I understand there are many paths to fulfillment and that abstinence isn’t the best choice for everyone. I have many years of experience helping people re-evaluate how alcohol or drugs fit into their life, so they can meet their wellness goals.
I’d be honored to accompany you in this process. I offer a free 20-minute consultation if you’d like to discuss your situation and to see if we’re a good fit to work together.
